HVAC Service Technician

Job Description
  • Full-time | M-F | 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. (after hour calls during on-call rotation)
  • Works independently, but also follows specific guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs systems and products at client’s location.
  • Provides preventative maintenance and repairs for HVAC systems.
  • Repairs and maintains refrigeration and electrical systems.
  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical, mechanical, and control components of different systems.
  • Inspects units for effectiveness and safety.
  • Installs new heating, cooling, and ventilation systems.
  • Performs consultations with clients.
  • Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, and modifications as needed or requested by clients.

  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

  • 5-10 years of HVAC technician experience. Other licenses/certificates will be considered (plumbing, back flow, repair, low voltage, gas, boiler, refrigeration card, DOT, equipment start up).
  • Certification through the Environmental Protection Agency to handle refrigerants.
  • Hand tools necessary to complete work.
  • Ability to handle hazardous materials with proper safety equipment, and have knowledge of OSHA and other employee safety regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of residential and commercial services in the areas of chillers, refrigeration, HVAC, controls, boilers (steam, water, & electric), water conditioning, water heaters, pumps, and electrical components.
  • Exceptional people skills and ability to self-motivate/multi-task.
  • Computer skills including the ability to operate a phone, tablet/workbook, and computer (use of Microsoft Excel, time tracking programs, etc).
  • Aptitude to complete timely and accurate daily work reports (notes, timecards, in-field billings).

Project Engineer / Estimator

The Mechanical Project Engineer / Estimator analyzes a project before it begins and performs the following tasks:

  • Accurately estimate costs related to labor, materials, equipment, and other relevant areas.
  • Research various job projects and prepare bid proposals. Including but (not limited to) reviewing bids for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Develop reports on materials and crew requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, field team, and third-party partners to troubleshoot & provide solutions to various conflicts throughout the project.
  • Analyze potential projects’ bidding processes.
  • Build effective relationships with sub-contractors and partners.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience and/or education in a highly technological field preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
  • High skillset in technology required.
  • The position is long-term, with training and opportunity for advancement.
  • Knowledge of the building mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and construction systems.
  • Above average technological skills and advanced knowledge of computer programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.

  • Perform admin duties such as:
    • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
      • Including but not limited to: client invoicing, managing outgoing billings, and tracking payable accounts.
    • Completing and processing project documents and information.
    • Documenting planning meeting results and ensuring all agenda items are completed by a set deadline.
    • Provide administrative support and excellent customer service.
    • Respond to inquiries and requests for information requiring knowledge of departmental and company policies and procedures.
    • Manage and coordinate schedules, as well as client correspondences.
  • Vaccination preferred.
