Preventative Maintenance
Valor takes the comfort of your home and the safety of your family very seriously. In fact, our preventative maintenance checks are performed with Valor’s principle core values in mind: integrity, trust and strong relationships, all with a high level of customer service. You can rest assured knowing that your units will be checked for safety and health issues before they become a threat to you and your family.
What is Preventative Maintenance?
Preventative Maintenance is the routine cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of your home’s plumbing, air conditioning, and heating systems – all completed to keep your equipment operating smoothly.
A Valor Mechanical technician checks to ensure your plumbing, heating, cooling, and water systems are operating safely, while efficiently and effectively adding comfort to your home. Valor Service inspections can uncover leaks, rust, frayed wires and corroded electrical contacts that may otherwise go unnoticed causing larger problems down the road.
After thoroughly inspecting your system, our technicians advise you of any needed repairs. No repairs are ever made without your review and approval.
That’s our promise to you – we’ll stay on top of your home comfort system’s maintenance so you don’t have to.

RPZ Testing (Reduced Pressure Zone Testing)
An RPZ is a backflow device that protects drinking water in your home or business from hazardous contaminants, which can enter a public water system. Whenever there is a water leak, house water service break, city water main break, or hydrant flushing, the water pressure can drop, causing systems to back up into the potable water supply. If this occurs, the RPZ will open up and dump water out, rather than allowing potentially poisonous water to backflow into the public water supply. State and local regulations require annual compliance testing of these valves to ensure that they are working properly. All RPZ valves must be rebuilt upon failing this test or every five years, whichever comes first.
You’re required to test your RPZ annually.
To help you meet State and Local requirements, our plumbers are not only licensed, but they are also certified in Backflow Testing (BT), a requirement for RPZ testing. They are ready to help you experience the Valor Difference by providing you with the following services:
- On Site Evaluation: Identify and record any existing assemblies or devices and make recommendations of items that may need attention.
- Backflow Assembly: Testing and rebuilding by accredited technicians.
- Upfront Pricing On any assembly testing or repair work.
- Necessary Paperwork: Once the testing is complete, we’ll provide the test results to you and the local inspection authority in order to keep your site in compliance and eliminate the need for further action on your part.
- Annual Reminder: We’ll let you know when testing for your RPZ is due.
Successfully navigate state and local RPZ valve requirements, installation, and repair, with the help of a qualified Valor technician. For all of your RPZ needs, contact us at 507-218-8400 or info@ValorMech.com.
